It seems that the intense and long-lived sizzle...with heatwave after heatwave rolling up from Africa, has been too much for our cheerful summer songbirds!  Their festive sunrise chirping… is no longer!  The early morning silence in Umbria at Genius Loci is deafening, filling my heart with sorrow and deep concern for our tiny feathered friends – so defenseless against these extremely dry and hot conditions.  It is not the same here this summer in Umbria without you, my friends.  We miss your morning joy…and will anxiously await to see you again next summer.
